Paul Bunyan’s Daddy Challenge – Saturday July 16th
3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Calling all eaters! Think you can put away 6 pounds of backyard barbeque favorites in less than one hour? We’d like to see you try. Our Paul Bunyan’s Daddy is a pit master’s picnic served between 6 slices of Texas toast and is as legendary as the lumberjack himself.
The Paul Bunyan’s Daddy consists of three pieces of Texas toast stuffed with beef, pulled pork, pulled chicken, applewood smoked bacon, baked beans, natural cut fries, house sausage, caramelized onions and macaroni and cheese.
Register today to enter Real Bar BQ’s first ever food challenge. The winner of the July 16th (Lincoln Park location) competition will move on to face the winner of next month’s (Detroit location) competition plus a national eating champion for a grand prize worth $1,000.00 The championship event will be held in August 2011.
Twinkie Eating Contest – Friday July 15th
4:00 p.m.
Kids under 17 can get in on the fun too. The Twinkie Eating Contest will consist of two heats: (1) kids 10 and under followed by (2) kids 11 – 16. The first kid in each round to eat 2 Twinkies (without using their hands) will each win a $100 Amazon gift card!
Real Bar BQ’s Rib Throwdown – Saturday July 16th
6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Is your ultimate barbecue secret in the sauce or the rub? Whatever it is that makes your ribs the talk of the town, fire up your grill and bring us a slab. Our local independent judges will rate your ribs in the categories of flavor, tenderness, and overall appearance. The winner will take home a $100.00 Real Bar BQ gift card and will be featured in the next edition of our monthly newsletter that reaches thousands of loyal citizens right here in Michigan!
Military Moms United – All Weekend, Every Day
Support your soldiers: We are collecting non-perishable items most requested by our troops. Donations will be given to our local organization: Military Moms United.
Military Moms United is a local support group of moms that have children going in, who are in, or are veterans of the United States Armed forces. They collect and ship care packages to our soldiers deployed in other countries. While most non-perishable items are accepted, there are items specifically asked for such as: beef jerky/Slim Jims, Coffee (any kind), instant drink mixes, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, tuna in foil pouches (no cans), protein powders, baby wipes, liquid hand sanitizer, body wash (not bar soap).
Please do your part to support the troops and drop off donations at any time during the Real Bar BQ Grand Opening Weekend.

Rev Ron and the TexArkana Band – Sunday July 17th

Listen to Rev Ron and The TexArkana Band play the Real Bar BQ theme song and top off your Southern barbeque experience with their gritty, honky-tonk song selections. A regular attraction on Sundays at Lincoln Park’s Real BarBQ location, Rev Ron is the perfect closing event to our Grand Opening Weekend celebration.
